Beachcamp

Which tickets do I need or must I book?

For each campsite, regardless of whether it's occupied by a vehicle OR a tent OR a camper, an auto + driver ticket is required. The price also includes the overnight fee for one additional person.

Every additional person staying in the same vehicle/tent/camper or similar needs a passenger ticket.

Example 1: I'm coming with a car (under 6 m length) and a tent where two friends of mine are staying.

Tickets needed:

  • 1x CLASSIC – auto + driver (for the tent & one person)
  • 1x CLASSIC – auto + driver (for the car & one person)
  • 1x passenger ticket (for the third person)

Per vehicle OR tent OR camper, one auto+driver ticket is required. You're welcome to share the same campsite anyway.

One person is included per auto+driver ticket. Every additional person staying in the SAME accommodation needs only a passenger ticket.

Example 2: I'm coming with a vehicle (under 6 m length) and my partner + my 13-year-old child.

Tickets needed:

  • 1x CLASSIC – auto + driver
  • 1x passenger ticket

Children under 14 years old are free and don't need to be registered in advance.

Example 3: I'm coming with ONE car/tent or similar (over 6 m length) and staying there together with 2 friends.

Tickets needed:

  • 1x MAX – auto + driver
  • 2x passenger ticket
Are awnings or trailers allowed?

Basically yes! Per auto+driver ticket you can place ONE vehicle/tent/trailer or similar on your campsite. So if you come with a car + trailer, 2 auto+driver tickets are required.

If it's just a small awning on, for example, an RV, no additional tickets are needed.

Do the ticket prices apply for the entire event duration?

Yes, the tickets are valid for the complete festival duration.

How does ticket delivery and festival wristband distribution work?

You'll receive your tickets as a PDF via email immediately after ordering or after payment is received.

Upon arrival at Beachcamp, you'll receive your festival wristband by showing your e-ticket.

Are sanitary facilities available?

We place great value on cleanliness & quality. All guests at Beachcamp therefore have free access to restrooms & showers.

Is there electricity at Beachcamp?

Of course there will be basic power supply. It will be enough for you to charge your phone, laptop, or toothbrush. Please leave power-hungry items like coolers, space heaters, or huge sound systems at home.

Also bring an extension cord of about 25 m with you, as we can't guarantee that the nearest power hookup will be located right at your campsite.

We provide power connections in the form of CEE outlets. So please also think about an appropriate adapter if needed!

From what age does my child need a ticket?

All children who are 13 years old or younger at the festival start have free entry to Beachcamp and don't need to be registered in advance.

Are there quiet hours?

Want to celebrate? Absolutely! But so we can come back next year, car stereos, portable boom boxes, and professional sound systems need to stay off between 24:00 and 9:00.

Arrival and Departure

Beachcamp is open during the following times:

  • Wednesday, May 5: 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Thursday, May 6 – Saturday, May 8: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM
  • Sunday, May 9: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Outside these times, it's not possible to enter the grounds.

Are there alternative places to stay?

Yes. Around the festival grounds there are hotels, vacation rentals, and campgrounds that are quieter than Beachcamp. You’ll find an overview with contact details under Alternative accommodation.

Test Center

What do I need to pay attention to when registering on site?

As long as you're at least 18 years old and have a valid ID card, passport, or driver's license with you, you're allowed to test. If you're under 18, you can only participate with an adult who is of legal age and will vouch for you. You should bring your own wetsuit and harness. Please fill out a test card completely at the test center on the beach and show it to the test center crew along with your ID.

If everything is in order, you'll get your ID back and can take the copy of your test card to the brand of your choice and test for free as often and as much as you want.

How does the test operation work?

With your test card, you simply go to the board, foil, wing, sail, accessories, and/or wetsuit manufacturer of your choice and ask about the equipment you'd like to test. The manufacturer will keep your card. You can mix and match equipment from different manufacturers or bring your own equipment and combine old with new as you like.

No beach in the world has as much concentrated windsurfing expertise as the south beach of Fehmarn during this festival. It's up to you to get good advice.

What happens after testing?

Once you've completed your test run, you bring the equipment back and can move on to the next brand. If you don't want to do any more tests, you can return your test card to the test center or take it home with you.

Tip:Make notes on your test card about how you liked the equipment and check that the product name is clearly legible on it. This will make it easier for you to evaluate your test day later, and if you decide to buy the equipment later, it'll be easier to find it online or in a surf shop.

What happens if the borrowed equipment breaks?

Of course, rented equipment can break during testing. It can happen to anyone and there's no shame in it. You and the test equipment are not insured through the organizer or the brand. As a tester, you're personally liable and should first go to the manufacturer and try to settle the damage there. If it's major damage, exchange contact details with the affected manufacturer so that your private liability insurance (if you have it) can take care of it if needed.

If you can't find a solution with the company, please come together with the manufacturer to the test center for a mediation discussion with us.

Do I have to register anew every day?

No, your test card is valid for 4 days. You only have to go through the registration process again if the card is torn or illegible so you can test again.

Are teenagers and children under 18 also allowed to test?

Yes, but only in the presence of an adult who is of legal age and will vouch for the minor. Both must appear together at the test center and provide their information. After that, the equipment can be tested normally by the teenager or child.

General

Does the Surf Festival charge admission?

No, the entire event, including test runs and the extensive stage program, is completely free. Fair self-cost prices are charged for individual surf courses, wetsuit or helmet rentals. Only if you want to stay overnight in our Beachcamp do you need tickets. You can find more information here.

What program highlights are there and how can I sign up?

You can find which regattas, battles, and challenges are taking place and how to sign up here.

Can I bring my dog?

Man's best friend is welcome, as long as they're on a leash. For beach visits, please use the dog beach about 800 m east of the festival grounds.

Please keep your four-legged friend away from the stage area, as the loud music could cause them pain.

Is my safety and health taken care of?

Of course! The police and security personnel are on site with numerous helpers and keep a watchful eye, particularly on compliance with youth protection laws and drug laws.

We always have paramedics on site for any medical emergencies. If you need help, please contact the nearest security guard or our team in the blue outdoor vests on site.

Is the Surf Festival accessible?

We do our best to make the festival as accessible as possible. This applies to the stage program, sanitary facilities (showers/restrooms), and the promenade. Please note, however, that some paths and areas are not asphalted or paved.

Especially on the beach, the sand is quite deep. We're happy to help and welcome your suggestions.

Where can I park?

There are various public parking options in the immediate vicinity of the event grounds, for example along the street "Am Yachthafen" or in front of the "IFA-Hotel."

Can I sleep in my car on public parking lots?

Unfortunately not. Overnight stays in your own vehicle or tent are only permitted in the Beachcamp or at one of the many campgrounds nearby. Please respect this rule! Other vacationers and hotel guests quickly feel disturbed and could complain – and we want to keep hosting the Surf Festival on Fehmarn for a long time.

Fehmarn Tourism Service is happy to help you find apartments, rooms, or available campsites at campgrounds.

Camping outside designated areas is generally prohibited at Südstrand.

What rules do I need to follow in the Beachcamp?

You can find the FAQ for our Beachcamp here, and the rules in the house rules.
